Welcome to our resources for secondary schools page. CSPV are continually sourcing relevant and appropriate resources to enhance learning opportunities for children and to engage families in their children's learning.

Our parent engagement advocacy campaigns include providing information and resources to build the capacity of parents to support their child's learning in Catholic schools by providing an environment that promotes and encourages a love of learning in the home.

We know that learning doesn't just stop at the school gate and that children are learning all the time. We also understand that through many years of research, it is important to engage parents in their child's learning to provide children with further opportunities to achieve academically, socially and emotionally. All parents and families have the capacity to engage in their child's learning and to link everyday learning at home with what children learn at school.

The support role of parents of children in secondary school is quite different to primary school. There is usually less involvement on-site, but this doesn't mean parents are not engaged and supportive of learning in the home. Secondary schools are in the unique position of being enablers of engagement by welcoming parents as partners and including them in goal setting, conversations and sharing of parent knowledge and providing the tools for parents to be able to understand and have capacity to support learning at home.

We encourage you to explore the resources on our website and read our newsletter articles on various ways schools are engaging their parents in their child's education via our newsletter.
